It’s important for us to give back to the local communities in which we operate. So in December 2023 we got in touch with The Big Help Project to spread some Christmas cheer with an end-of-year donation.
The Big Help Project is a multi award-winning charity that aims to provide vital support for children and their families living in poverty across Merseyside and the UK.
The charity’s 2023 Christmas appeal called upon local businesses to help those in need by donating food, clothes, toiletries and other non-food items, as well as monetary donations and toys for children.
The Big Help Project Christmas Appeal coincided with the charity’s Surviving Home for Christmas campaign, which highlighted what the festive season might look like for one fo the 4.2 million children growing up below the breadline.
The donation we provided helped the Big Help Project deliver even more presents and sweet treats for disadvantaged children across Merseyside who were at risk of going without.
Director Lee Birkett said: “As a supported living developer, organisations such as the Big Help Project are close to our hearts because we see just how much benefit they bring to families who might be struggling.
“To think there are children out there in our local community who won’t be receiving any presents this Christmas is heartbreaking and we wanted to make a donation that could go towards providing a solution to this problem by providing some joy for children and their families.”
Peter Mitchell, founder of Big Help Project, added: “We’re truly grateful for the support Brantones has shown the Big Help Project, and for all the other local businesses who have donated or volunteered during the run-up to Christmas.
“The cost of living crisis is not going away and the need for these appeals has never been more important because no child should have to go without a gift from Santa this Christmas.”
